Yemenis are believed to have been the first to drink coffee from coffee beans in the 15th century, others say it was the Turks. It is believed that the coffee machine is nothing more than a pot. Turks today say that the first coffee machine was copper or ibrik copper, the ibrik being quite round in the lower half and straight all the way around. The top has a fairly long and wide spout and a large C-shaped metal handle that connects to the pot. Pour hot water below the beans and boil for several hours.
